ETHOS

E stands for expansion, expression, elevation, empowerment, emergence, embodiment, evocation, ethereality, empresses & essence.

Essence Atelier is a world of expression, embodiment, and expansion — where 3D art illustrates the beauty, style and cultural richness of Black womanhood. Inspired by the concept of inner essence, we craft ethereal visuals that celebrate individuality, sensuality and self-reclamation. Each creation is an evocation of spirit — bold yet soft, visionary yet grounded. Through the lens of an Afrofuturistic worldview, we explore themes of emergence and empowerment. Here, art isn't just created — it's also embodied. It becomes a mirror, a muse and a movement to experience. Because at Essence Atelier, E will always stand for expressing everything you already are and aim to become.

E stands for Esther, Estée & Essie.

My name is Esther, which means star. I’m a 26 year old Haitian-American artist based in the Greater New York City Area. Like the stars in the sky, I also go by many names. In Kreyol and French, I’m Estée — which represents my romantic side. To my friends, I’m Essie — which represents my playful side. Personally, I use my names interchangeably, each one carrying its own mood, meaning, or message—depending on what I’m aiming to express or embody in the moment. Together, they form my inner constellation and I like to think my creative work is where they all come together. Whether I’m creating art, researching or studying the senses, I bring all of myself into the passion, the intention and the vision. In essence, my work is about reclamation of identity. And my names were my first examples of that kind of reinvention.

In Conversation With Estée

E: To me, Essence is the core & the intangible imprint of who you are—beyond aesthetics. It’s the energy you carry, your presence, and the truth you choose to express. It’s what deeper than the visuals. It's the part of you that can’t be copied or emulated.
E: Beauty is a form of intelligence—an intentional arrangement of elements that awakens the senses and stirs something within. It’s more than surface level; it’s a visual pleasure that draws you in, making you feel enriched and inspired. Beauty invites presence. It softens, uplifts and regulates. In my work, beauty shows up through sensory design—experiential compositions, textures you can almost feel, lighting that carries mood, colors that evoke memory or longing. I create with the belief that representation is a part of that beauty—because seeing yourself, your skin, your softness, your story—rendered with care and intention, is its own kind of visual affirmation.
E: I use Blender, a 3D modeling software, to handcraft each scene—sculpting, lighting, and texturing everything myself. My work is not AI-generated; it’s fully artist-made, guided by intuition, emotion, and intentional design. Every detail is created by me, from concept to final render.
E: I pull from a lot: Black womanhood, fashion photography, dreams, intimacy, memory, cultural research and vintage designs. I’m also inspired by slow moments, sensual rituals, the feeling of being in your body and expansion—as well as the worlds we create from it.
E: I’m currently developing Her Essensuals, an art zine and journal hybrid exploring the art of experience through the five senses—part visual pleasure, part inner world. It blends creativity, experiential marketing, visual storytelling, reflection prompts, and sensory design. It’s a space to feel, reflect and return to yourself.
E: I wanted this space to feel like entering my studio—intimate, atmospheric, and alive with detail. Think of it like visiting an atelier: you don’t just scroll, you explore. Every section is interactive by design, so it feels less like just a store or portfolio and more like a digital experience.
E: At Essence Atelier, a Star Girl embodies authenticity. She stays true to her personal style, taste and signature — her essence. Guided by her inner north star, she shines with pure brilliance.
